07:55_DOOM_: Is there a reason we would want to use another wl_shm_format for a wl_buffer other than argb8888 or xrgb8888, like if the subpixel is bgr would we use abgr8888 instead?
08:08wlb: wayland-protocols Merge request !237 opened by Kirill Chibisov (kchibisov) stable/xdg_shell: clarify 'must be in response' https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/wayland/wayland-protocols/-/merge_requests/237
09:00MrCooper: _DOOM_: no connection between those two things
09:02_DOOM_: Understood, but is there a reason I wouldn't use argb8888 or xrgb8888? And where is subpixel used in? Is it just used for things like font rendering?
09:03MrCooper: can't think of any reason, and yes
09:04_DOOM_: Cool
09:04_DOOM_: Thanks!
09:04MrCooper: no worries
16:29mstoeckl: I've been running with https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/wayland/wayland/-/merge_requests/188 for the last year+, and have not run into any issues with it. Could someone please review it, so we can get it merged, and issue #237 fixed, long before the Wayland 1.23 release freezing starts? (Someone other than me, since I wrote an early version of the code.)
16:41vyivel: so, the latest w-p meeting notes still aren't up?
